Peter Hook's book 'The Haçienda: How Not To Run A Club' is being adapted into a 6-part television drama series according to deadline.com. Ed Whitmore will write the show which is being developed for television by Witchery Pictures.

Coming to a UK television screen near you this autumn: 'Shaun Ryder on UFOs' via the History UK cable/satellite channel. The series sees Shaun jetting off around the world to various locations of UFO-sighting fame including the mountains of Chile and the fields and forests of England and on the way he speaks to experts, witnesses, academics, abductees, sceptics and believers (of which one the Mondays man ranks himself following an early close encounter in Salford).

Shaun Ryder on UFOs lands on Sunday 10 November at 8pm.

History UK is available on Sky 529/530(+1), Virgin Media 234 and BT 886.

Michael Winterbottom's The Trip started on BBC2 this week and is, as expected, an entertainment delight featuring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as loosely fictionalised versions of themselves.

Not surprisingly perhaps seeing as Steve Coogan starred as Tony Wilson in Winterbottom's 24 Hour Party People (and Rob Brydon also had a bit part), there was a Factory reference in Episode 1 The Inn at Whitewell.

As our two protagonists drive into the Lake District in Steve's Range Rover, Steve explains why Atmosphere by Joy Division is playing on the stereo:

Rob Brydon: "Why are you listening to this!?"

Steve Coogan: "That's what I've chosen for the soundtrack for this landscape. It's not expected. You think of that as industrial. I associate that normally with an urban landscape."
