August - when it was
Twenty years ago, in August 1983, Fac 51 The Haçienda played host to such varied delights as Roman Holiday, Lydia Lunch, Einstürzende Neubaten, King (with DJ Gary Crowley) and Factory stalwarts Cabaret Voltaire.
On the 4th of August 1991, the second day of Cities in the Park took place in Heaton Park, Manchester. Factory bands took over the line-up and there were performances from Electronic, Happy Mondays, Revenge, Cath Carroll, The Adventure Babies, The Durutti Column.
"Manchester is still alive... and London, New York and all the rest are still dead"
