Escape From Planet Rock
Escape From Planet Rock is ex-Cabaret Voltaire man Stephen Mallinder's insights in two parts into "the music scene in northern England in the 1970's-80's, particularly Sheffield".
Part One is out now with Two to follow in the next issue of Indie Music Monthly.
Meanwhile, Mal's 2011 PhD thesis, Movement: Journey of the Beat, is also available for a more involved discussion of " the trajectory and transition of popular culture through the modality of rhythm".
