A Certain Ratio's Discographus Lepidoptera

A Certain Ratio have collaborated with designer Ian Jackman Read (The Charlatans) on the Discographus Lepidoptera, a limited edition poster which visually encapsulates the ACR discography as a beautiful butterfly collectors' artwork reports the Manchester Evening News. All the albums from The Graveyard and The Ballroom to Mind Made Up are present and correct.

The Discographus Lepidoptera is priced at 45.00 GBP and is presented in a special limited edition of only 100 signed copies.

A Certain Ratio will hold a special signing launch event at Magma on Oldham Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter on Saturday 4 November 2017 from 18:00. Any remaining prints will then go on sale online from 20:00 the same evening.

The is also a postcard set with each one representing a single album from the collection. This is priced 12.00 GBP.

A Certain Ratio album reissues via Mute 
A Certain Ratio logo

A Certain Ratio and Mute have announced a tasty set of album reissues, starting in November with the second wave in February 2018. The classic original albums will be followed by a compilation in April, plus other stuff including a rarities box set.

The first albums set for release on 24 November 2017 include the band's debut release, The Graveyard And The Ballroom, which originally came out on Factory Records in December 1979. The album will be available here on limited edition vinyl with coloured PVC sleeve, CD and, mirroring its original release, on cassette. In addition, albums To Each (1981), and Force (1986) will be released on coloured vinyl and CD.

After a relatively quiet summer, the autumn season kicks off for The Durutti Column with a 12" 180 gram vinyl re-release on Tiger Bay for the Greetings Three E.P. which originally came out on Italian label Materiali Sonori in 1986.

Meanwhile, other re-releases are being finessed and finalised by Factory Benelux. In the coming months we can expect splendid reissues of Without Mercy and The Guitar and Other Machines.

Oh, and a Durutti fanzine (or is that fan zine) is also imminent.

Shiiine On Factory Allstars Update

A quick update on the Shiiine On Weekender which takes place at the Butlin's Minehead Arena from 10-13 November. As previously announced, there are plenty of ex-FAC bands involved including co-headliners Happy Mondays plus Peter Hook & The Light, A Certain Ratio, Space Monkeys, The Wendys, Sons of the Descent (featuring Ian White of The Wendys) and Time For Action (featuring Dermo ex-Northside who also has a DJ slot) and DJ Bobby Langley.

Plus there's a screening / Q&A of the Do You Own The Dancefloor? documentary film.
