FAC 318 Classics in Motion T-Shirt

FAC 318 was allocated to the "Classics in Motion" Classical showcase event (featuring I Fagiolini, Rolf Hind, Graham Fitkin, Red Byrd, Steve Martland and The Durutti Column) to launch the second wave of Factory Classical CD releases (FACT 316, 326, 336, 346 and 356) at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London on 29-31 October 1990.

FAC 318 was also issued to a 'Classics in Motion' T-shirt (in grey with black/yellow graphics), a poster and a leaflet; all with related graphics and "FAC 318" on them.

However, in typical Factory fashion, FAC 318 was ALSO later issued to the FAC 318 Flying Start exhibition stand...

Unknown Pleasures 3D
Joy Division's FACT 10 Unknown Pleasures cover designed by Peter Saville has been rendered on a 3D printer with the plans for how to do it published alongside (via BoingBoing [->]).

However, although the age of the 3D printer is only a few years young, this isn't the first time the classic cover has been modelled in 3D. Morph did it in 2006 in moulded latex in a series of exclusive (and pricey) one-off editions.

True Faith @ Nelson's, Hebden Bridge 8 June
True Faith @ Nelson's, Hebden Bridge 8 June

"Turn it up! Bin the headphones for a night and share the music, and love. We're going to play all those great songs from back when we had daft sticky-up hair and acted all moody in great-coats, even in mid-summer. You know - The Smiths, The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, New Order, the whole lot of 'em.

"We're starting off at Nelson's, a cool underground bar in Hebden Bridge, on Saturday 8 June, from 9pm. Come along with your pals and lose yourself to the soundtrack of your old self when all was hopeful and dreamy and lovely with the world.

"We'll be playing some new stuff, of course, because hopes and dreams and loveliness and great music is eternal what ever the age, the hairstyle and where ever you're now at, man. Have faith, True Faith."

FAC 288 'Twistin My Melon' T-Shirt
FAC 288 'Twistin My Melon' T-Shirt

A companion T-shirt to the FAC 288 'Call The Cops / Shaun On One' T-shirt has been brought to our attention (thanks Andy W!). Featuring gaudily treated photos from the same Kevin Cummins photo shoot on a hotel roof it has Shaun and Bez (both probably on one) with the text 'HAPPY MONDAYS' and 'TWISTIN MY MELON' above and below. The small print reads: "FACTORY MERCHANDISE 1990 ©FAC 288".

As with Shaun On One, the provenance of these items as official Factory Merchandise is somewhat in doubt. However, I am assured that both were bought from FAC 281 The Area, the late lamented Factory merch boutique shop in Affleck's Palace.
