Annotated photograph of Kim Philby (after whom the main bar in FAC 51 The Haçienda was named.

A negative and photograph from the AHW collection, presumably dating from the pre-FAC 51 era as it was being planned.
Blunt and Philby were infamous members of the Cambridge Five, a ring of spies who passed intelligence information to the Soviet Union during and after World War Two.
The third bar at the Haçienda, Hicks, was named after the cryptonym of Guy Burgess, another member of the Five.

Dear Sir
Blue Monday
We control in the United Kingdom the rights in various compositions by Bobby Orlando including "Love Reaction" and "Passion".
An allegation has been made by Warner Bros Music Ltd. that the work "Love Reaction" was written in infringement of one of the copyrights they claim to own called "Blue Monday". You may already have received a letter from Messrs. Russells acting for Warner Bros. Music Ltd.
The allegation of infringement of copyright is untrue. Conversely, the writer of all the above works feels that "Blue Monday" was written in infringement of several of his works including not only those referred to above but also "Spys". His claim is being actively investigated and pursued, and we should therefore be grateful if you would place all royalties in respect of "Blue Monday" in suspense, pending resolution of the dispute. Please confirm to us that you have done so.
If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to let us know, and we will continue to keep you informed.

Detail of typewritten release schedule on Factory Records stationery for early wave of Factory Records boxed cassette releases by Joy Division, The Durutti Column and A Certain Ratio. Note the mistake on FACT 25c which should be 'Closer' and not 'Unknown Pleasures'. Note also the listing of 'A Factory Quartet' which was originally planned but never happened. However, physical tests were done and prototypes made.

With regards to recent events, we feel there is very little we want to say. The feelings of Ian's friends and colleagues are private and should remain so. We'd like to thank all the people who abet us in record production, the journalists, broadcasters and friends from other companies and bands who have expressed their sympathy. For the young people who loved the music, we hope that some of the above releases help with that empty feeling that we are all going through.
The all-night party just goes on.

Factory Benelux presents double vinyl and triple cd editions of classic Factory era album by The Durutti Column - The Guitar and Other Machines - which will be released on 12 January 2018.
The double vinyl features the original album on the first disc plus bonus live tracks (from the same period) recorded at the Bottom Line in NYC and the Womad Festival.
The 3CD edition duplicates (and adds to) the live tracks on CD3 and, on CD2, adds many associated recordings, including the rare Greetings 3 EP, Our Lady of the Angels, LFO Mod, Catos con Guantes, When the World, White Rabbit, and many more.

News via thedurutticolumn.com:
17 November sees the release of a double blue vinyl edition of A Paean To Wilson. This new edition produced by Cargo Records in association with The Durutti Column. The packaging, credits and notes are similar to the 2LP edition produced by Kooky Records for Record Store Day 2013 in the UK (which is sold out). The main difference is that this 2017 edition does not include the envelope containing the Manchester International Festival programme and the large postcard featuring the original artwork which were include in RSD 2013 package. Please also note that the 'Heaven Sent' tracks offered via download with the RSD 2013 2LP or as CD2 in the original cd version (Kookydisc 29/2) are not included.
All profits go to the artist.
The 2CD version (with 'Heaven Sent' bonus disc) is available again via Cargo.
Finally, please also note that this is not technically a formal Kooky Records release but is rather a Cargo/Durutti co-production. However, it does bear the original catalogue number and packaging.
How to buy
A Paean To Wilson [Kooky Records/Cargo, 2LP blue vinyl] is available to pre-order/buy via Cargo.
